Prophet TB Joshua Lives on in Our Hearts

Prophet TB Joshua, the Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, SCOAN, would have been 58 years old on June 12, 2021, but has passed away exactly a week earlier. But when someone you know and also love passes away, we are saddened. But because it is TB Joshua we'd never look down to the floor with sadness. Instead, we are keeping our head held high and looking up to Jesus, the Author and Finisher of our Faith for a man we believe have lived an exemplary life. We'd shared the same faith with TB JOSHUA. We prayed, ate, drank, talked, sang, danced, walked and joked together. The fact that we no longer see him isn't enough to take him away from our hearts. I used to say in my mind, especially whenever I sat with TB Joshua, that I drank Arigidi water more than 12 years before TB Joshua came and drank the same community water. But we need to learn how God works and change to God’s way. In God’s order, it is never by power nor by might but by His grace.

Meanwhile the LORD our God has given us a beautiful fellowship and the SCOAN family through our father in the Lord Prophet TB Joshua. He is leaving behind a beautiful biological family and a vibrant Christian Community that will possess the land all the days we may live upon the earth. Soon we shall cross our own River Jordan and the Lord will help us to conquer our enemies and live in peace. After we must have settled we promise never to forget the lessons learned under TB Joshua, his labour of love, his life of prayers and discipline, his strict adherence to the Word of God, his generosity, that the better is not good enough, and all he did to build SCOAN. Life may be different without TB Joshua but we shall not offer sacrifices just anywhere we want to but where the Holy Spirit directs.

Jesus said unto her (Martha), "I am the resurrection and the life. He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live. And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?"  We know that TB Joshua would have said, “Yes Lord, I believe”. This is one of the bases of our joy amidst our sorrow in the departure of a most beloved one. Prophet TB Joshua lives on in the hearts of those he trained, those who obtained educational scholarships from him, those he fed and housed those who received healing, attention, love, gifts, and those he prayed for. TB Joshua remains alive even in the minds of his adversaries and critics; unfortunately including individuals professing to be Christians with their ministries but still choosing the path of abuse and condemnation. They are just like the Pharisees who were so envious of Jesus that they got Jesus killed, buried with a heavy stone rolled over His tomb. They learnt too late of their errors and sin. It is God’s divine plan that Jesus should die to save humanity and we believe it has been God’s will to take TB Joshua away at His chosen time. TB Joshua was a true man of God and did his best as any man of God of our generation. This is why he is living on in our hearts, not because he was TB Joshua but because of his immense and permanent impacts on world history.

TB Joshua also taught that if our past life consists of unhealed wounds, unforgiving spirit sins not confessed, and so on, that the whole of our life would continue to bleed. Dressing the bleeding with alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, sex or stealing in other areas to cover up will only make the bleeding ooze through the bandage and staining the entire life continuously. Hence he advised that we find the strength to open the wounds that are holding us to our past and make peace with them through a complete repentance process. He advised that we should be fully committed to "Complete Repentance" and get out of a life-cycle of "Rise-and-Fall", again and again.

Only the Spirit of Jesus can help us and sustain us through this perilous time. It is our prayer that we find the grace to see Jesus in the light of God's plan today by receiving Jesus into our life. TB Joshua was able to confront individuals who came to him and telling them the root cause of their respective problems. He lives on in the lives of those who came forward to be thus rescued. It has been a mission he was born for and now died for. But as far as we are concerned Prophet TB Joshua lives on in our hearts. God will give His grace to see his disciples in actions living even greater than him just as Elisha had a double portion of anointing from Prophet Elijah. Emanuel

Prophet TB Joshua Message About Death

"A Christian does not consider death to be his end but the end of his trouble, tribulation. Whether you die young or old, no matter the nature of death, death is sure to come. What matters is the grace to continue living hereafter. We need to be sure that we are ready to depart. Are you ready? Continuing to trust in God is the only way to get ready for the things we are not ready for.

The question you need to ask yourself - are you living each day as if it were your last? How are you using your life? I mean, how are you spending your life? Because the greatest way to use life is to spend it on something that will outlive it. For instance, to love someone more dearly every day. When you look around you, you will see someone who is in need of your love, help, strength, time to help a wandering child find his way - I mean, to help widows, widowers, orphans, the less-privileged and unsaved, to follow truth - as blind men long for light.

To keep our heart fit for His holy sight and answer when He calls - this is our task. Let me leave you with a million words: Live each day as it were your last. Someday, you will be right."

The Prophet T B Joshua the World Didn’t Know

Prophet TB Joshua,Tb Joshua death,TB Joshua Ministries,TB Joshua,The SCOAN,Emmanuel TV,Synagogue,Church of all Nations,

Temitope Balogun, with Joshua as his prophetic name, we believe was called by God and filled with God’s Spirit. Generally, a prophet is called to speak God’s word to people who had in one way or another distanced selves from God. TB Joshua was one of them, a prophet and a preacher, a healer and generous giver, and a philanthropist amongst many other gifts. That he has been reported dead in the early hours of June 5, 2021, remains very hard for many of his followers to believe. In fact, for many days SCOAN premises may witness crowds of people longing to see their father in the Lord, Prophet TB Joshua. In the popular media, he is unfairly and wrongly treated as a prophet not more than a whistle-blower and a controversial individual. Those of us who were fortunate to have first-class knowledge of the prophet are hurt more when falsehood becomes the order of the day.

Some of the old prophets in the Bible include Moses, Samuel, Elijah, and Elisha amongst others. Prophet T B Joshua belongs to this class of God's topmost prophets under unbiased assessment based on a spiritual level, ability to train other prophets, performance and appropriateness of prophecies, miracles and teaching, adherence to the scripture, etc. In addition, he belongs to the class of the earlier apostles such as Peter, John, Paul and others. If prophet T B Joshua had a message for you he would make all efforts to get it to you including phone calls and transportation at his cost. Therefore T B Joshua should be seen as someone who came forward to speak God’s world to this rebellious generation and at a time when religion had become commercialized and major means of livelihood and when the developed world had turned away from God to self and science. T B Joshua pushed his case to the last minutes of his life, telling people that God is Nature and hence God is Science. The media have been trying to convince people that freedom is found in doing what they want, whereas T B Joshua said that true freedom is obtained only by submission to Christ’s Lordship and making the Bible a standard for life. In no distant future, just as the disciples of Jesus were called Christians first in Antioch, (Acts 11:12), TB Joshua followers will be known also as Christians in the order of the first Apostles.

The public may also need to know that this pastor TB Joshua also faced many persecutions and trials. When his messages were put down from airing on government TV he created his own. When his prophecies were criticized he stayed calm. When he was given a national award by the government of Ya’Adua, which would have lured him to attend a public occasion, he sent his wife. He was a very careful man who depended on the leading of God’s spirit to direct his steps. The prophet never stopped praying for people using every method at his disposal. He introduced Emmanuel.TV, Anointing Water, Distance Not a Barrier to the Move of God, and turned a slum in Ikotun Egbe a local area in Lagos into a beautiful praying ground for an international audience that could become a major pilgrim place. He was a different man of God in every area because he remained original, focused and obedient to the Word of God. Whereas he was gentle and humble he was also equally equipped to be a consuming fire as any other prophet of God. God, Himself is a consuming fire. The Jesus that came at first was gentle but at His second coming He will be a Judge and a Consuming Fire. If the spirit of God that was in T B Joshua is hovering around it must be to consume because at that level evil can no longer be overlooked.

The public didn’t take advantage of the prophet’s free offer of healing. Many of those who did are still amongst us speaking out their testimonies. The classical healing and deliverance cases that came before T B Joshua at a single meeting are more than what a National University Teaching Hospital of any country could have handled a whole year. Cases that defiled healing from any other quarters came to T B Joshua and got positive results which cannot be denied the prophet.  The World is going to miss this genius called prophet T B, Joshua, even as we expect that many of his disciples will spring up with their mentor’s type of evangelism very soon.

Prophet T B JOSHUA lives on.

You Tube Banning Emmanuel TV Touches the Very Heart of Jesus Gospel Message

TB Joshua, The SCOAN, Emmanuel TV

When recently YouTube placed a ban on Emmanuel TV's YouTube Channel, citing a reason based on "Seemingly Social Justice" and not focused on "Sin and Redemption", we have been taken aback. Their reason and action strike on the very heart of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the need to be set free from sin and all its practices and not take comfort in a cosmetic social justice. The Bible commands us to take care of the helpless, the unfortunate and defend those who are oppressed. This is a very important part of what it means to live out our Christian Faith and which Prophet TB Joshua, the Bishop of SCOAN and founder of Emmanuel TV, has been preaching across the globe, not just in a remote Lagos neighbourhood.

Perhaps it is necessary to attempt to align YouTube and many others on the core message of Jesus Christ which has become Christianity and the Gospel. It is that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and resurrected, and thereby reconciled us to God. This is the message that will truly bring freedom to the oppressed. If an organization the status of YouTube intends to contribute meaningfully to public life in the 21st century it should have an open door for all. They must also understand that the Bible must be preached entirely, with power and glory in Jesus Christ, without compromise.

We also want YouTube to be aware that many "Christians" today find the concept of God willing His Son to die on the cross to be embarrassing or even appalling. They even take it to be "child abuse,” the idea of blood atonement is de-emphasized or denied altogether, with social justice and good works enthroned in its place. Prophet TB Joshua and his ministries, including Emmanuel TV, have attracted world attention, not for the reasons alluded to him by YouTube but by the sound and complete Gospel of Jesus Christ coming from them. Social justice can be persuasive and enticing, but carried out to its logical end in many areas it is an assault on the foundational framework of Christianity, leaving it disarmed of its saving power. We encourage YouTube and its owners to consider this moment a time to pray about finding and supporting fellowships that are more "Biblically Faithful Church Communities" rather than banning them. Emmanuel.

YouTube walks dangerous line between tolerance and censorship in its decision to terminate channel of famed Nigerian pastor T.B. Joshua

By Noah Pitcher( Global politics writer ) -  Today News Africa

YouTube recently made the decision to terminate the channel of prominent Nigerian pastor and televangelist TB Joshua, claiming that his content repeatedly violated the company’s hate speech policy pertaining to discrimination based on sexual orientation.

In a statement made Wednesday to Today News Africa, a YouTube spokesperson Ivy Choi said TB Joshua’s channel, which had amassed over 1.8 million subscribers and 600 million views, repeatedly violated community guidelines pertaining to hate speech. In particular, she was referring to videos in which the prominent pastor claimed to cure congregants of their homosexuality.

“In accordance with our long standing three strikes system, we terminated the channel The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) for repeatedly violating our hate speech policy. Our Community Guidelines clearly prohibit content promoting violence or hatred against protected groups based on attributes such as sexual orientation,” the statement said.

Joshua responded to the labelling of his content as hate speech, stating, “Our mission is to share the love of God with everyone – irrespective of race or religion – and we strongly oppose all forms of hate speech! We have had a long and fruitful relationship with YouTube and believe this decision was made in haste.”

Many feel that it is a slippery slope to begin policing people’s actions or beliefs under the ambiguously defined label of “hate speech.” At what point does rhetoric become hate speech and stop being protected under the umbrella of religious freedom?

In the video that is most responsible for triggering the closure of Joshua’s channel, he “casts out the demon of homosexuality” from congregants.

The video’s description read, “God hates sin, not sinners. When the Bible says, ‘Do not judge so that you will not be judged’, it means we should hate sin, not the sinner because sinners can change… We should hate the act, not the people because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spirit beings that cause all these acts.”

While YouTube is meant to be a platform where creators can openly share ideas and express themselves, many have taken TB Joshua’s ban as an affront to the teachings of Christianity and an infringement on free expression.

Community guidelines are an important aspect of any social media platform such as YouTube, and representatives of the company have repeatedly asserted that hate is not welcome on the popular video platform.

Clearly, heinous offenses such as the incitation of violence or the promotion of child trafficking should have no place on YouTube. Yet, the label of hate speech can feel loosely defined, all-encompassing, and open to subjective interpretation. There is much disagreement about the extent to which offensive content should be tolerated and at what point free speech turns into hate speech.

Should a preacher be banned for openly practicing his religious beliefs just because they are offensive or controversial? What is the line that preachers cannot cross without their rhetoric being labeled hateful and impermissible? This raises many concerns amongst religious communities about whether pastors can be punished for merely reading the teachings of Scripture.

It can be difficult to achieve the right balance between appropriately monitoring hate speech and simultaneously promoting the free expression of religious beliefs. For instance, how can YouTube best administer its community guidelines to make sure that conservative Christians and members of the LGBT community both feel welcome and respected on the platform?

A platform with 2.3 billion users around the globe, YouTube is a subsidiary of Google and holds immense power and influence all over the world. The decision of what type of content should be allowed or banned from being posted on the platform is incredibly significant and impactful worldwide.

If YouTube were to disproportionately police conservative content, it would be accused of imposing the company’s ideological perspective on its users. Therefore, conservative Christians ought to be entitled to the same freedom of expression as more liberal content creators regardless of whether or not YouTube agrees with their perspectives.

YouTube spokesperson Ivy Choi asserted that all content creators are held to the same standard, saying of the decision to terminate TB Joshua’s channel for hate speech, “We enforce this policy consistently, regardless of speaker, nationality or religious affiliation.”

There is much controversy and disagreement surrounding the policies by which YouTube monitors content. If the organization wants to promote tolerance, it can be difficult to strike the right balance between respecting religious freedom and simultaneously protecting the interests of people groups.

While making sure that all users feel welcome on YouTube regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation is one of the company’s top concerns, it is no easy feat to pull off. Protecting the interests of one group sometimes means taking protections away from another group, leaving YouTube performing a never-ending balancing act.

There are many practical challenges for a company like YouTube, which is headquartered in California, United States but has grown to immense popularity worldwide. This provides for additional difficulties in monitoring global content, given the religious and cultural differences between different parts of the world. Throughout Nigeria and much of Africa, homosexuality is currently punishable by law.

As the world reacts to the removal of TB Joshua’s channel and many disagree about whether or not it was justified, the pastor urged listeners Friday to “be strong” and said, “I got to know what happened to YouTube when I saw the viewers complaining… I want you to help me pray for YouTube… Don’t see them the other way around; see them as friends.”

The Tyranny of Social Media giants and Modern Persecution of the Church

Youtube award, Tb Joshua, The SCOAN

The recent suspension of Emmanuel TV YouTube Channel never came as a surprise. It was as expected as anything else. Since this was not the first time YouTube has suspended SCOAN’s Channel on its platform. We even wrote an article then saying that this present YouTube Channel that is now under suspension will also be blocked. The only thing that is a surprise is while the SCOAN have not until now develop their social media platforms where the gospel and the marvellous works of Christ through the ministry of Prophet TB Joshua can be disseminated without restrictions.

It is time the Church of Christ starts thinking outside the box, there are some things that Christ will not do for us when he has already given us the grace to do it for ourselves. The Church cannot continue to rely on the mediums and platforms of the world to preach the gospel that they hate.

Let us stop acting as if we are ignorant of the world and its antics. We know they are not comfortable with the gospel of Christ and there is no way they will continue to allow their platform to be used to propagate that gospel.

They claim their actions were based on ‘hate speech’ from a deliverance video. A video which to a true believer is an inspiring testimony of transformation.

That which is an atmosphere of deliverance and freedom to the Church is hate speech to the world. Can’t we see the conflict? Who is the determiner of hate speech? Who makes owners of social media platform the judge in determining our value system? Are they not supposed to be neutral?  This is simply the tyranny of the social media giant. Because it happens to TB Joshua today those not mean it won’t happen to you tomorrow. The Church and the lovers of truth need to wake up and understand that the world is no longer hiding their hate against the gospel of truth. They are coming out boldly in waging their war against the Church of Christ.

TB Joshua never forces anyone to come to his Church. The man who was delivered from homosexuality come to The SCOAN on his own. He felt he was under bondage and came to the SCOAN where he believed he could get his freedom. And that freedom he received. How do that affect YouTube and any aggrieved group?

Is this suspension that is without any legal and legitimate bearing by those purporting hate speech, not themselves promoting oppression and persecution?

What about the United Nations fundamental human right that said “Everyone has the right to freedom of thought, conscience and religion”. Why do you want to impose your belief and thought on others? Are you angry with TB Joshua’s ministry because God is using him to reduce your population – the homosexuals?

The man that was delivered from homosexuality was matured enough to know what is best for him. You don’t force your belief on others. If you believe that what you stand for is good and true, why not allow everyone the choice to decide for themselves if they are comfortable with it or not. Instead of forceful imposition and coercion.

This is clear tyranny in public display and we need to recognise that the world has gone past this stage.

The management of YouTube should not allow themselves to be used irrespective of the pressure they may be getting from these groups and even if they have a stake in these issues. They have to understand that these are sensitive issues. Taken side and suspending Emmanuel TV’s YouTube Channel is not the best way to go. They should instead learn to stay neutral. They should learn to differentiate between business ethics and their prejudice. This is important not only for the integrity of their social media platforms but for the future. Always remember that the future is a mystery.

Walking with Jesus to Golgotha

The events leading to the journey to Golgotha happened very fast. The enemy will lose no time attempting to pursue a perceived foe. Jesus was arrested in the early hour in Gethsemane Garden (Mark 14:37, 14:41) and about six hours later put on the cross, (Mark 16:25). In this short period, He had been marched from this Garden back to the other side of Jerusalem and examined severally. He was examined first by the High Priest Annas, then by the Sanhedrin presided over by the High Priest Caiaphas (Matt. 26:57, Mark 14:55) and then taken to Pilate (Luke 23:1), to Herod Antipas (Luke 23:7), then back to Pilate (Luke 23:11) again. Pilate finally sentenced Him and handed Him over to the soldiers. They dressed Him up as a mock-king, then made to drag His cross to Golgotha to be crucified.

Several years later Apostle Peter wrote to the pilgrims, including those coming to SCOAN from all parts of the world today that, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time", (1 Peter 1:3-5).

We note that throughout this trial Jesus never complained, even with all the torture and great humiliation. Jesus does what he asks of His followers then and today. He takes on the difficult challenges of life knowing that in going through the difficult challenges we grow in faith and hope in the Lord. Jesus literally, picks up His cross and goes forward on the journey to Golgotha knowing what lies ahead. Showing the world that God’s love for all was too important to stop the journey. Prophet TB Joshua teaches his views that challenges are the soils on which faith grows. Jesus goes through this to secure our salvation.

At the cross Jesus finally said "It is finished", (John 19:30). We have no doubt that Jesus knew what His last words ought to be here in this life. He knew the power those final words would have for generations still to come. He had great purpose in them, which still breathe such life and meaning for our lives today. Jesus has reached His destination and all the scriptures fully fulfilled, in Him and only in Him. Happy Easter Season. Emmanuel.

Jesus Has to Rise Within You

In one of his short, but very deep teachings, Prophet TB Joshua of SCOAN, Lagos Nigeria said, "What you give may attract people but the manner you give it may attract God". In other words, if our giving only attracts people, making the world our friends then we are enemies of God (James 4:4) but if it attracts God we are children of God. So our daily ordinary giving is a test of being dead or alive in Christ, a test of whether Jesus is still dead in us or has risen. Jesus is about all the possibilities within us, all the peace and godly living, and all the eternal life. We also read in Daniel chapter 1 how the King of Babylon tried to change everything about Daniel and his friends, including their names, their food, their devotion to their God. But Daniel knew how to follow his guide Jesus whose Spirit was living in him. Jesus has to rise in each of us before we can stop going astray and live right.

Apostle Paul in Romans Chapter 8 emphasizes being alive in Christ Jesus. He says, "Those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit", (kindly read verses 5-6). The mind of the flesh is death but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace. We are controlled by the Spirit if we have the Spirit of Christ living in us. Furthermore, the Spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead, that is living in us, will also give life to our mortal bodies. The whole essence is that Jesus, existing in every mortal soul, has to rise in each soul to give life, otherwise that body is dead. It's not about being a good man or a good woman. Have you risen with Christ?

The existing world situation is evil, corrupt, unjust, uneven, fearful, but Jesus in you should rise and join His army to fight this evil. It's not about being a good person. Jesus has not been considered a good man but He is the Righteousness and the Integrity of God. He comes to oppose the existing darkness, to eradicate the establishment of injustice and evil world. He comes to show the Way, the Truth, the Life. He is the Way, the Life and the Truth. One of Pilate's many insights questions posed to Jesus is, "What is Truth?", (John 18:38). Yet He was still crucified. We need to know the Truth to be set free from sin power over us. Therefore Jesus has to rise within you so that whether you turn to the right or the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it", (Isaiah 30:21).  Emmanuel
